Most of us know that the cruise industry brings in significant revenue to our city through tourist spending, but did you also know that last year there were more than 800 direct and indirect jobs created as a result of cruise ships coming into Victoria? The Victoria Cruise Industry Alliance (VCIA) is highlighting opportunities in the cruise sector with a job fair at Ogden Point on February 24, from 10 am to 2 pm. Key players in Victoria’s cruise industry will be there looking for seasonal employees, including GVHA, Western Stevedoring, CVS Tours, and Butchart Gardens.
“Last year’s fair was very successful,” says Western Stevedoring’s Sam Rosindell. “We ask people to bring their resumes and expect to meet their future employer. Whether they’re seeking a customer service job, an executive job, or a role as a bus driver, there are a range of positions available.”
